Description
This dog is named for King Charles II (his dad, King Charles was decapitated by Oliver Cromwell and friends) of the Restoration. Actually, the dog is named for King Charles’ spaniel, whose appearance he is supposed to resemble. Cavalier was originally a term of derision used by Cromwell for the wealthy Royalists. The dog has a silky, smooth coat and is a great family dog because of its small size and generally friendly demeanor.
