Description
Because of God’s love, we can all say, “It is well with my soul,” in times of peace or sorrow. The well-known hymn was penned in 1873 by Horatio Spafford after several family and financial tragedies. The original lyrics:
“When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to know, It is well, it is well, with my soul.”
