The past is but prologue, the best is yet to be.
Our story begins with passion for furniture and love of rural American life.
In 1980, on a trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, we first discovered hand-made Shaker furniture, built with solid Appalachian Cherry or New York White Oak. The craftsmen were mostly Amish and Mennonites, living in and farming the valleys of Pennsylvania and Ohio. The furniture, now called Gat Creek, is benchmade and signed by the craftsman.
Back in Kansas we started small stores in Wichita and Overland Park, Kansas. We selected the name Traditions Home to represent our commitment to quality and value. We are committed to selling distinctive handmade furniture. It is furniture built to last a life time.
Today, we are the exclusive Stickley Furniture dealer in all of Kansas.
Stickley Furniture's Mission Oak and Harvey Ellis styles represent the very best of the american Arts and Crafts movement. But, Stickley is more than Arts and Crafts. The Metropolitan Collection offers modern, contemporary urban settings. There is much to the Stickley story.
At Homefurnishers you'll also discover Charleston Forge, Gat Creek and other great American furniture manufacturers. Each store offers interior and commercial design, fine rugs, and lighting and accessories. We are grateful to our loyal customers and proud of the great staff that makes our store a success.
